Room 12 have been doing senses poems for two weeks now. We are doing our weekend senses poem and this is my writing of my weekend senses.

The Weekend Senses Poem

        I smelt the cold glistering chlorine of the water of my Aunt Trisha’s pool, when we visited for the weekend.

I heard the splashing of the glistening water in the pool.

 I was allowed to taste some of the delicious brownies on the table after my swim.

I felt very warm in my bed after my great big swim and I stayed inside for the rest of the day.

I saw the shimmering water of my aunt Trisha’s pool.

For our short writes we’ve been doing writing with adjectives similes and speech marks our short write for today is about volcano’s.

The maunga had a volcano by it. After a while it started to heat up and it…Erupted!!! it was as red as mars.The maunga had some parts melt into liquid from the heat of the lava. The lava went down the mountain and in to the lake. Like a rushing stream trying to swallow everything up in a flood. Me and my family were fishing in the sea,when we saw a eruption!!!  My Mum said ” Okay pack up time!” We then quickly swam to the shore and quickly packed up. And ten drove home.

What would you do in a volcano eruption?

Our class has been doing quick writes and we’ve been writing about what pet we would have and why?We had to explain how  we would protect it, look after as a kaitiaki for them. I chose a cat.

If I could choose what animal I would keep as a pet,I would choose a cat. I would take care of it by making sure it didn’t go outside on rainy days. It would sleep with me on my bed. And it would eat cat biscuits and meat. It wouldn’t need heaps of exercise but some exercise a day. I would keep it safe by making sure it gets lots of water,food,rest,and just out in the backyard. The next morning,I woke up to see Kimmy playing in her cat bed in her cat house.She nearly fell but landed on my bed, I cautioned “Kimmy! Be more careful!” Being a kaitiaki is a lot of work.At ten i took kimmy out for a walk down the street and back so down the hill and up the hill,we do this  everyday before eating our kai. She was always as fast as a racing cheetah. Whenever she runs,I always say “Kimmy slow down!”

What pet would you choose?

We’ve been doing new things for our writing. We’ve been doing quick writes. We get a word and we talk with our talking buddy for two minutes and write for five minutes. I chose to put all my quick writes into a story with a dragon story.

   Stories

A camera came to life. The camera, after being thrown into a bin for being broken, came to life. It was like a robot someone had incorrectly fixed turning it crazy. The camera looked very scary. 

One day the camera came across a person with a friend. They were choosing if they would rather control water or fire. The friend said “I would choose to control the water because I would be able to control the rain. It could help water less countries, and animals of sorts especially sea animals like rain just dripping wherever and whenever you need it. It was so so wet”. 

The camera, after searching for the girl for so long, came across a kayaking race and saw a man called Finn Butcher. Finn Butcher built a kayak to win the kayaking competition. Finn Butcher showed impressive speed in kayaking and it showed very well, how much work he had put into his training, it was very genuine. He was as fast as a cheetah on a boat. On the news he said “It just takes lots of practice”. He also won a gold medal. The person who won the silver medal was Jaimee lovett. And the person who won the bronze medal was Daniel Ryan.

The camera got lost in the woods and looked around then bumped into something covered in soft but hard moss, it looked like a dragon who had been forever asleep for centuries the dragon came to life and then got hit by a rock tripped over a tree trunk fell into a waterfall and got his wings injured by a rock at the bottom of a lake. It looked like the moss from an ogre’s swamp,but newer. The camera hid behind a tree when he saw a scientist come into the forest and poisoned a petrified log of bark. The camera then found a first aid kit and wrapped a bandage on the  dragon’s injury.

What would you write about?

We have been researching about the 2024 Olympics Games,and i picked Handball.

These are some rules about handball:

• competitive game consists of equal 30-minute halves with a 10-15 minute break.
• A team cannot keep possession of the ball without attempting to attack.
• The start is awarded to the team that wins the coin toss.
• A match begins with both teams in their own half.
• A goal can be scored from any type of throw
• And players can only use their arms knees  and fingers to throw the ball.
• What’s your favourite sport?

In room 12 we learnt about fantasy writing stories. We were learning it because it would make us want to write more. My favourite part of the story was when the friends found magical gems. have you ever written a fantasy story?

Here is my story below:

A Mysterious Girl And Her Friends

There was a mysterious girl no one could ever be compared to her since she always wore a sort of cloak no other cloak was like it not familiar to anyone because all of those people were born in different countries none of them knew where that cloak came from. It was very beautiful; it looked like a pile of roses, petals and tulips .

She also had her friends by her side the names of the friends were named Augustina sophie violet cc Simon Elizabeth jack and scot . And her name was Luna. They all met in a very interesting forest. Luna was looking for a place to camp in the forest . But then a girl in the forest was hiding in the bushes . Luna wasn’t frightened but the girl hiding was. The girl in the bushes standed up then walked up to Luna to introduce herself then Luna introduced herself. The girl who was hiding in the bushes was Augustina. She was very kind for somebody who just met Luna.

Augustina was very not normal and that’s what Luna loved. Augustina looked like a wolf since she had wolf ears, wolf tail and claws. Luna thought it wasn’t real but when they disappeared Luna for sure believed in it. Luna really loved fantasy and hoped that one day it would come true and she was for sure thinking that she was in a fantasy world of her own like her dreams but this time it was in real life. Augustina was very different; she never knew anything about the outside world; she only knew about the forest and only the forest; nothing else; she and Luna were twelve the same as the rest of their friends they were bound to meet. Luna and August which is short for Augustina spent days together then one day Luna was done camping Luna insisted that August came with her . August agreed to come but when they were going down they fell into a cave very dark and dripping water sounds then these gem looking stones start glowing. The gems start to glow more and more like their connection to the two gems is also a part of the two girls somehow and as it glows brighter the girls are drawn to them and they pick them up. When Luna picks hers up she sees something. Her gem can lend her two powers super speed and she can see if something or someone is there like if somebody is doing something bad really far now Augustina’s are nature and strengh August’s strength can be passed from her to the earth at fifty for her and fifty for the earth and her nature power is where she controls the plants the earth besides the sea that’s what Agustina’s powers can do. The girls were shocked in an exciting yet spooky kind of way . They thought it was all a dream then their heads hurted and they blacked out. When they woke up they saw the school that Luna was going to on Luna’s first day Was two days away so they went to Luna’s house. Luna’s mum Charlotte and her dad Christopher were really happy when Luna got home and when her parents saw Agustina they thought she was just wearing accessories . Agustina introduced herself then they both went into Luna’s room after Luna told her parents that Agustina was her friend also that Agustina was an orphan so her parents could adopt her since Luna and Agustina were still figuring out the stuff that happened in the forest and the cave that was in the forest . Then Luna convinced her parents after ten minutes to adopt her and they said yes but that would mean Luna would have to share her clothes with Agustina until Luna’s parents figured out what style and what size Agustina was since Agustina only had a big hoodie on and shorts underneath. So Luna showed Agustina the room and then Luna picked the necklace she found and put it on her then she gave Agustina the one that Agustina found. They both put them on and the gems start to glow again. Luna’s starts to glow red and purple and Agustinas looked green and watery. Luna started to shapeshift and run fast all around the block. Then when she returned back into her room and when she did she saw Agustina floating in mid air. Agustina had leaves coming out of her hands. It was very mind blowing. In the morning it was Luna’s first day of school that would mean Agustina had to go as well. When they arrived at school the bus was by the car since the other students went on the bus then in the cars. They went to the high school and went into the music room where they met Sophie . Sophie is anti-social and very very shy; she has never even seen a person besides her parents and 5 siblings. Sophie is the youngest out of her siblings . She also warmed up to Luna and Agustina very fastly . After six days it was Sunday and Luna , Agustina and Sophie were having a sleepover at Sophie’s house. When they arrived Sophie’s house looked like a mansion and when the three of them went to her room it was filled with plushies . It was so colourful and sparkly it was so bright. They had pillow fights, ate in the bedroom at midnight, made a fort and watched a lot of movies. They also played truth or dare and snuck out . After all that they went to sleep. In the morning they woke up, got dressed and went camping. In the camp they made Sophie found a gem . Sophie touched it and the gem got brighter and brighter as she touched it. And it gave her powers as well. Her powers were that she could fly and use invisibility, being visible meant if somebody was being mean and a person interfered then the bully would be mean to them as well. so invisibility could help if people needed help if the police and hospital couldn’t get there in time . And the flying power could help with seeing fires and with both of the other girls’ powers and the other friends they are going to meet they would protect the world even on school trips. When they went to school after eating their breakfast they noticed that tomorrow was going to be the first school trip of the year. Everybody was so excited when they found out they had to go on a boat to get there. Except for one person cc. Cc is antisocial like Sophie so he really didn’t want to go until he met Scot , Sophie and Luna.
